Professional Speaking and Education

I love developing and providing educational content and delivering it through professional public speaking platforms.

Emotion Coaching

Do a quick Google search and you will find that emotion coaching is geared to children and parents. Importance is placed on this relationship specifically because of the nature of attachment and neurobiological bonds between a parent/caregiver and a child. This is all true and valid and much of my work focuses on this.

However, it is my belief that the skill development of emotion coaching is an important skill in any relationship, at any life stage. This workshop can be tailored to any environment to increase connectedness, flexibility, wellness and regulation in all relationships.

Caregiver Workshop

The primary focus of this workshop is to support those who are in a caregiving role of their loved ones who are struggling with mental health challenges. In this workshop, caregivers learn how to support their loved ones by developing a deeper  awareness around blocks to connection, practical tools and how to be their loved one's emotion coach.

Caregivers report increased connection with their loved ones, self efficacy and a renewed sense of confidence in their relationship and abilities as a caregiver.

This workshop has been delivered for parents of children and teens as well as those who are supporting their adult loved ones through mental health and aging.

Emotion Focused School Support

Educators and school support staff spend many hours with our children and teens, and see them through some significant periods of development and life experiences. When a student’s brain is activated by emotion, regardless of the reason, they experience diminished cognitive flexibility and capacities for learning.

Informed by emotion and learning theory, EFSS was developed based on feedback from educators and school support staff. It is a simple and efficient model for increasing the capacity of school staff to effectively respond to the emotion of students (and their parents) in order to facilitate a “return to learning”.

Neurodiversity and Emotion Coaching

Now let's add in some neurodiversity (ADHD, ASD, Giftedness) to the mix and you have a new set of considerations for how emotion coaching is delivered.

This content is adapted for both practitioners wanting to learn more how to support their caregivers in emotion coaching with their neurodiverse loved one as well as parents who are delivering the emotion coaching.
